Talking
in an Eid Milan Party held in Karachi, activists of Sindhi nationalist parties,
civil society leaders and journalists have said that the armed forces of
Pakistan has announced the new residential schemes Bahriya Town and Defense
Housing Authority (DHA) on the 40000 acres land in Karachi city in a bid to
settle non-Sindhis in the city. The action would alter the demographic fabric
of the Karachi. They said that the Sindhi people would fight against such
demographically engineered actions. Those who talked in the event included
Jalal Mehmood Shah of Sindh United Party (SUP), Ilahi Bux Bikak of Jeay Sindh
Qomi Mahaz (JSQM), Naseer Memon (civil society leader), Aijaz Mangi (prominent
journalist), Ghulam Shah (lawyer), Noor Mohammad Memon (publisher) and others.
