Pakistan People's Party a couple of weeks ago gave a call for a public gathering / congregation on October 15, by the people of Sindh in favor of Sindh Local Government Law, which proved to be a big failure because it could attract nearly 15 thousand people. The people were made bound by some tribal chiefs of hilly and desert remote districts of Sindh. Interviewed by the various TV Channels, these participants said that they were also against the Local Government Law, however they have attended the public gathering because their Tribal Chiefs have bound them to attend it. The newspapers also reported that Sindh Government also ordered its employees particularly Lady Heath Workers (LHWs) to attend the gathering. Around 19 thousand police and security personnel were installed to provide security to the 15000 participants. It was for the first time in PPP's history in Sindh when it could attract highly smaller number of people for a public gathering.
