The rouge official beaten up by the citizens in Nasirbabad town, Sindh, Strike observed

The Sub-Division Officer (SDO) of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) opened the fire upon the residents of the Nasirabad town over the issue of electricity connection. "19000 NATO lethal weapon containers disappeared from Port Qasim in the Supervision of MQM minister" Supreme Court orders a judicial inquiry

A report by the Home Ministry has been submitted in the Supreme Court of Pakistan that 19000 NATO weapons containers disappeared from Port Qasim, Karachi under the Ministry and Supervision Mutahida Qomi Movement (MQM) affiliated Pakistan's Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Ghori. The report mentioned that the arms were distributed within Karachi as well as other parts of the country. The apex court has ordered an inquiry under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge to probe in the matter and present a report in the apex court within one day. Pakistan urged to ratify treaty on enforced disappearance

The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and Human Rights Watch Thursday urged the Pakistan government to affirm its commitment for ending enforced disappearances by ratifying the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance. The third annual United Nations International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances is set to be observed on August 30. “Ratifying the convention against disappearances is a key test for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s new government,” said Ali Dayan Hasan, the Pakistan director at Human Rights Watch. The Federal Government of Pakistan yesterday stated in the Supreme Court of Pakistan that Mutahida Qomi Movement (MQM) was has a militant wing Muhajir Republican Army; however later on after the denial of Altaf Hussain, the Federal Minister Chaudhry Nisar said that the report was submitted in the Supreme Court of Pakistan was still in pre-mature stage, hence, therefore, the Federation of Pakistan withdraws it. 1. The new Pakistani government under the Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz, is moving into office in September and is set to commence killing death row inmates within the next week, despite pleas by the international community to stay the death penalty. 400 inmates are set to be executed by the end of 2013. Political parties reject MQM’s call for army

Major political parties in Sindh have rejected the demand of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to deploy army in Karachi to maintain law and order. Man forced to walk naked in public

Taken by force, 29-year-old Rehman was physically assaulted and made to walk naked on the streets of Pahar Pur by 10 men, DSP Tahir Wazir told The Express Tribune on Tuesday. With dark paint on his face and body exposed, Rehman was forced to walk from Government High School No. 1 to Thala streets – not a short distance, according to the police official. In a major development, the Energy Information Administration (EIA), the American federal authority on energy statistics and analysis, has estimated fresh recoverable shale gas reserves of 105 trillion cubic feet (TCF) and more than nine billion barrels of oil in Pakistan. These estimates of recoverable hydrocarbon reserves are many times larger than so far proven reserves of 24 TCF for gas and about 300 million barrels for oil. Pakistan currently produces about 4.2 billion cubic feet of gas and about 70,000 barrels of oil per day.

Attack on Nato convoy kills four Afghan civilians: official


A suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden car into a convoy of foreign troops in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing four civilians, officials said, adding there were no confirmed military casualties. About 15 by-standers were also injured in the attack on Nato-led forces travelling on a main road near the police headquarters in Lashkar Gah, capital of the volatile province of Helmand. How Pakistani establishment has been introducing criminal rackets in Sindh: An story of Don Golo of Sindh supported by the Punjab Government

Thousands of the Ghotki district residents yesterday protested on the call of Citizens Alliance against state introduced and supported thug "Don Golo." He is involved in the fraud cases. The ban on the IB recruitment was imposed by the authorities  on the instruction of Supreme Court of Pakistan during Pakistan People Party (PPP). The authorities in Sindh has indicated that a second high flood flow of 400000 cusecs of flood water will cross through today from the Guddu Barrage. A flow of the equivalent quantity crossed Guddu and Sukkur barrages late last weak inundating thousands of villages in the province has caused a large number of human displacement. The more flood flow would mean the more destruction and displacement.

Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has said that the government's negotiation offer of Taliban is not conditioned with the surrendering before the talks. Balochistan on strike over killing spree

A complete wheel-jam and shutter-down strike was observed in Baloch-dominated areas of Balochistan on Saturday against the alleged extra-judicial disappearances and recovery of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch political activists and members of the civil society. The Baloch National Front (BNF) had given the strike call following a staggering hike in the number of incidents involving the dumping of mutilated bodies across the province. All street and trade centres were closed throughout the day, while transport remained suspended, paralysing life in the Baloch-dominated districts of the province. The strike was observed in Mastung, Kalat, Surab, Khuzdar, Hub, Turbat, Gwadar and other districts. It may be mentioned here that the body of a Baloch journalist, Abdul Razaq Baloch, was found in Karachi after he went missing some time ago. Read details in Daily Times

Three Sindhi nationalists were killed on Independence Day in a fake police encounter - many young people remain missing after arrest: AHRC

The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has received information that on the 66 celebration of the Independence Day of Pakistan, three more Sindh nationalists were gunned downed in a fake encounter in Karachi and many young Sindhi activists were arrested from different districts of Sindh province and their whereabouts are unknown. In a fake encounter a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was also shot dead by the head of the police raiding party to settle an old score. On this occasion of the country's Independence Day nationalist groups observed a 'black day' by holding protests. After the police encounter, the chief minister of the province announced a reward of Rs two million for the shooting of the activists but the very next day the Station Head Officer (SHO), who was in charge of the police party, was suspended on the charge of killing the DSP. 591 villages flooded in Sindh today

According to social media updates by the activists, at least 591 villages were drowned today as heavy flood enters in the Indus today at Guddu Barrage in Sindh. The newspapers reported yesterday that 500000 cusecs water crossed from Guddu barrage yesterday, however the recent reports added that more water have crossed today causing heavy damages including displacement of the people.        

Mutilated dead body of Baloch disappeared journalist found in Karachi

Pakistan's inteligence agencies ISI and MI has thrown mutilated dead body of another missing Baluch and Journalist Razak Sarbazi Baloch in Karachi. He was a sub-editor with daily Tawar, Balochistan. PAKISTAN: A student leader was extrajudicially killed in a fake encounter conducted by the state intelligence agencies

The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has received updated information regarding the extrajudicial killing of a student leader by persons from the intelligence agencies. A student leader, Afzal Panhwar, who remained in the custody of the security agencies for one year, was again arrested and within some hours he was shot dead by plain clothed persons believed to be from the secret agencies. He was a leader of the Jeay Sindh Student Federation (JSSF) affiliated with the JSMM, a nationalist organization striving for the independence of the Sindh province from Pakistan. During his first detention he was interrogated by Military Intelligence (MI) and Inter Services Intelligence Agency (ISI) on charges of placing bombs on the railway track and on the second occasion he was again abducted on the same charges.
