Sindh says big NO to division plans: complete strike was observed across Sindh

Sindh observed complete shutter-down strike against Mutahida Qomi Movement (MQM) statement for the division of Sindh. The strike call was given by Qomi Awami Tahreek (QAT) and was supported almost all Sindhi nationalist parties. Almost all cities and towns remained closed and vehicle traffic remained absent from the roads. The Sindhi, Baloch and Pashtun majority districts of Karachi East and Malir, parts of central and South Karachi districts also observed complete shutter-down strike. The women wing of QAT, Sindhyani Tahreek held a protest rally against MQM-cum-Establishment plans for the division of Sindh. The rally was attended by the large number of women from Karachi. Rallies were also organized in the other districts of Sindh. No incident of violence was observed from any city or the town. Read details in Daily Awami Awaz
