Thousands protest against Zulfiqarabad in Thatta, block highway, clashes between police and the protesters

Thousands of residents marched in Thatta against Zulfiqarabad project on the call of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) yesterday. The rally was led by Maqsood Qureshi, central leader of JSQM and brother of poisoned JSQM leader Bashir Qureshi. The protester blocked National Highway for hours that caused heavy vehicular jam. This led to police action against the protesters, which resulted into clashes between police and the protesters. The protesters demanded an end to Zulfiqarabad and emerging Chinese influence in Sindh.
