Three tribunals set up by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Sindh were dissolved on Monday following objections by the Sindh High Court (SHC). The tribunals were set up by the ECP to take up election-related complaints in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur. Retired judges were appointed for the tribunals. The Sindh High Court chief justice objected to the commission’s decision, saying that according to the Supreme Court’s order it was binding to consult the high court to appoint judges. The chief justice termed the appointments as illegal. Courtesy: Daily Times, Lahore
