The police officials of Sindh recently protested against the posting of a relatively junior police official Shahid Hayat, who was elevated to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG) - Sindh of the Sindh Police. He by-passed and therefore violated the seniority of 88 Sindh Police officials. The 88 officials also included some senior as well as popular police officers like AD Khuwaja, Sanaullah Abasi, Bashir Memon, Sai Rakhyo Mirani and others. Finally, after the protest by the Sindh Police official, the authorities have removed the non-Sindhi police official Shahid Hayat from the post of AIG and has started considering the list of 88 senior police officials most senior of which are ethnic Sindhi.
