It is a fifth death anniversary of young revolutionary activist, philosopher and scholar Asim Akhud who died in Tabba Hospital, Karachi apparently due to cardiac problems in 2008. It is doubted that he might have become the victim of the medicated death at the hands of Pakistan's intelligence agencies. Click to read profile of Asim Akhund Asim Akhud was a Sindh Marxist, who believed in the freedom of Sindh, albeit through Marxist point of view. Pakistan's intelligence agencies are not only involved in the murder of Sindhi and Baloch nationalists, they have also been engaged in the murder and poisoning of the selected non-compromising Sindhi thinkers as well. After the proven evidences of poisoning of a civil society activist from Hyderabad, Sindh in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2012, there has also been doubts about the sudden medicated death of Asim Akhund as well as over-night death accident of popular young Sindhi Poet Hassan Dars. The question is that why Pakistan need to eradicate Sindhi thinkers and nip in the bud the emerging intellectuals? The answer lays in the Pakistan army's mass murders of teachers and students in Dhakka University in 1971 and targeted murders of teachers, students, poets and intellectuals in Balochistan since year 2000.
