Record water shortage down stream Kotri

Due to severe Indus water shortage in Sindh, the crops, ecology and habitat in down stream Kotri barrage has once again facing severe threats. The water discharge bellow down stream Kotri barrage has reduced bellow 8000 cusecs. Experts have warned of disaster in Indus Delta and economic loss in Sindh. According to Water Accros of 1991, Federation of Pakistan is bound to release at least 10 Million Acre Foot (MAF), which it has failed to provie since last two decades as water share of Sindh in the river Indus is being released to Punjab province.   Read news in Sindhi daily Awami Awaz
