Almost all of towns and cities have been protesting since last one week against the brutal murder of the two Hindu traders, Hiralal and Ashok, in Umerkot district by the criminals. The Umerkot city, the business hub of the Thar Desert in Sindh, is one of the Hindu majority districts of Sindh. Sindh Government has ordered the action and some of the culprits have also been arrested; however main culprits still remain untouched. The protests in the province now have been converted into the civil movement against victimization of Hindus in Sindh. Umerkot city has been on strike since last a few days and the Hindu minority leadership has said that the incident is the part of victimizing Sindhi Hindus.
