Hundreds of the growers held protest march in Badin district of Sindh against extreme water shortage in the district for the agriculture purpose. They also gave a sit-in in front of district administration office. They threatened that if the district was not released appropriate quantity of water, 10 growers will opt for self-immolation in protest. The water shortage in tail-end district of Badin, Sindh is due to water theft by upper riparian Punjab province from the river Indus, which results the low water discharge towards Sindh against water accord of 1991 between the federating provinces of Pakistan.
