Punishment demanded for May 12, 2007 Massacre



In a seminar organized in Karachi political leaders have demanded the punishment for Mutahida Qomi Movement (MQM) leaders Altaf Hussain, Waseem Akhtar and others for massacre of innocent people. Ten years ago on May 12, 2007 dozens of activists of various political parties were killed in Karachi. Those who demanded the punishment for the killers and conspirators of May 12 carnage included Shahi Syed of Awami National Party, Sindh; Nisar Khuhro, President Pakistan  Peoples Party Sindh; Qomi Awami Tahreek leader Ayaz Latif Palejo and Jamait Islami leader Mohammad Hassan Mehenti. The seminar was held in Karachi Press Club.

Protest demonstrations were held in various cities and towns of Sindh against May 12 carnage. Lawyers boycotted the proceedings of the judiciary. They demanded punishment to those who were responsible for May 12 carnage.
