Khairpur Mirs Police on the request of Pakistan Railways demolished nearly 200 house, torched many of them and on the resistance of the residents opened fires in the residents due to that at least two persons were deadly wounded. Railways is a federal subject in Pakistan and therefore, a vast part of land on the both sides of the railway track is also considered to be federal property. Therefore, the citizens of province, according to the railway authorities notion, have no right to develop households of federal land, which normally remains no-man's land.
