IRSA, despite protest, allocate share of Sindh over Indus water to Punjab

The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has further reduced the already injudiciously minimized share of Sindh over the water of Indus. There have been several protests across the province during March and April 2013 by the growers and peasants over the water-shortage. Sindh Government has already written three letters to the IRSA protesting over the unconstitutional reduction in the water share of Sindh during the first quarter of 2013. Responding the Sindh's protest, IRSA has further cut the water discharge to Sindh from Indus and allocated it's water share to the province of Punjab. IRSA is a federal body to regularize Indus River System water between the provinces of Pakistan and is currently headed by a Punjabi Chairperson. Read details in Sindhi daily Awami Awaz
