“Sindh is discriminated by Federation, exploited by Punjab” – Sindh Govt announces to file petition in the Supreme Court against exploitation and discrimination of Sindh

Government of Sindh has finally announced to file a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the exploitation of natural resources of Sindh (by the Federation and Punjab Province). Sindh Government sees this exploitation a violation of Article 158 of the Eighteenth Amendment in the Constitution of Pakistan. Sindh Government has said that its natural resources are being exploited, and the government is now fade-up of writing letters to the Federal Government and the Forums. Sindh Government said that Sindh is not even given back 35 percent of its gasoline resources for the utilization. Sindh Government in its formal announcement has said that if Inter-Provincial Coordination Council (IPCC) does not convene a session to decide the issue, Sindh Government would be having no other option except to go the constitutional court.

In his Press Briefing on the issue, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Information Minister Sharjil Inam Memon have said that Sindh is being given electricity for only six (6) hours out of twenty-four (24).

They said that Punjab is exploiting natural resource of Sindh, especially the natural gas from Ghotki, Dadu and Khairpur Mirs district. They demanded Punjab province to return these exploited resources back to Sindh. They said that Sindh is facing discrimination and exploitation by the Federation.
