Sindh government to devise new local government law

Sindh Government ministers and parliamentarians held a meeting yesterday to review the Sindh Local Government Law and introduce new legislation. The meeting decided that the positive aspects of previous controversial law would be carried meanwhile controversial aspects would be dropped. They also devised a committee to draft and review the bill. The previous Sindh Local Government Law was rejected by the Supreme Court of Pakistan after massive protests, public out-pour and civil war in Sindh against the elements supporting the controversial law. Read details in Sindhi daily Awami Awazi
