‘80,000 Pakistanis die annually from smoking’

Tobacco kills nearly six million people each year out of which almost 600,000 die from second-hand smoke, said Dr Zahid Masood, The University of Faisalabad’s community medicine department head, on Friday. Masood was addressing a seminar on World No Tobacco Day held here at the TUF’s Saleem Auditorium. He said there were 30 million tobacco smokers in Pakistan and 80,000 people died annually because of it.
