High tide hits villages

High tide in the Arabian Sea caused by strong winds submerged more than a dozen villages in Thatta coastal area during last 48 hours.

According to eyewitnesses, villages of Ali Mohammad Jat, Mole Dino Jat, Haji Pandhi, Haji Ali Jat, Hussain Malhio, Dilawar Sholani, Ramzan Molu Jat, Hajamro, Isahaque Dablo and Abu Dablo and others along Ketibunder and Kharo Chhan coastline have been inundated in knee-deep water after the high tide.

The strong winds blew away many straw-made huts and shades for keeping poultry. Many fishermen have anchored their motor vessels to the shore as a precautionary measure and suspended fishing for the time being.
