Speaking on the occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that acceptance of election results by political parties, despite having reservations on its transparency, proved that positive change had been brought about in the country. He said that role and performance of caretaker government and ECP during the elections had raised serious questions.

Qureshi said the residents of Karachi felt insecure due to continued breakdown of law and order situation in the city. It was the reason that people of Karachi were migrating abroad and als shifting their investment to other countries.

PPP’s Taj Haider said that despite having reservations his party had accepted the election results for the sake of democracy. He said it was the PPP which rendered a lot of sacrifices for democracy and its continuity.
